Come shopping at the Holiday Market on Adele

Come shopping at the Holiday Market on Adele, and you can check off items on your list while also supporting a great cause.

The event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Manheim Farm Show Exhibition Hall, 502 Adele Ave. It will feature a variety of vendors and food, with some of the proceeds benefiting Unlocked Closet.

"We will have craft vendors, direct sales, a local farm and local bakers," said Chelsey Harnly, who is helping to organize the market with Stephanie Rogers. Vendors will include Thirty-One Gifts, Tupperware and PaperPie Books, along with stands selling hot chocolate bombs, Christmas stockings, whoopie pies, bread, jewelry and more.

Food and drinks will be sold by two local businesses, Harnley stated. "DLT Farms will be providing sausage and pulled pork sandwiches and soups," she said. "White Magnolia Coffee will be providing different coffee and non-coffee drinks."

A portion of coffee and food sales will benefit Unlocked Closet, an Ephrata-based nonprofit organization. "Unlocked Closet serves Lancaster County and surrounding area foster/adoptive families through a 'foster closet,'" Harnly explained. "All items are free of charge and include clothing, toiletries, diapers and more. They hope to create, strengthen and maintain a positive foster/adoptive community."

The organization will also have a table set up with information about its mission and how to help, she said. "We try to have a nonprofit to highlight every year," Harnly stated. "Stephanie and I are very passionate about family and children, and knowing that Unlocked Closet is helping these families to make these transitions a bit easier for them is huge to us."

Both Harnly and Rogers noted that visiting the Holiday Market on Adele offers a great way to shop local. "Getting to meet the owners of small local businesses makes spending money a little bit less painful," Rogers said. "They all work hard to bring good, quality items."

Harnly agreed, adding, "This is such a great time to support local for your Christmas shopping. In this financial climate, we are all pretty concerned about what and who we are supporting with our dollars, so why not support those families in our own communities?"

For more information on the Holiday Market on Adele, search for the event on Facebook and Instagram. The building is handicapped-accessible, and there are handicap parking spaces at the building. All other cars should park across the road at the Manheim pool parking lot due to ongoing construction at the high school.
