Programs to focus on water resources

The Lancaster Group of the Sierra Club will host programs about water resources on Thursday, Nov. 9, and Wednesday, Nov. 15. Both presentations are free and open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. at the Stone Independent School, 480 New Holland Ave., Lancaster.

On Nov. 9, Allison Zechman, the City of Lancaster's wastewater operations supervisor, will discuss "Wastewater Treatment." The Nov. 15 talk will focus on "Drinking Water" and will be presented by James Rieben Jr., the City of Lancaster's water treatment manager. The Sierra Club - Lancaster Group will offer the programs as a way to tell the story of how water goes from source to tap and then from wastewater back to the environment.

A remote option for the presentations also will be available via Zoom; for more details, visit http://www.lancastersierraclub.org and locate the event on the calendar on the homepage. For more information, call 484-821-7903 or email afzechman@gmail.com.
