Mount Joy Rotary honors students

The Donegal High School Counseling Office & Career Resource Center has announced that Kara Nissly and Timothy Stehman are the Mount Joy Rotary Students of the Month for October. The Students of the Month are honored by members of the Mount Joy Rotary during their monthly luncheon meeting.

Kara is the daughter of Rodney and Rebecca Nissly of Mount Joy. She is co-captain of the cross-country team and is on the track and field team. She is secretary of the National Honor Society and a member of the Key Club, the debate club, the Spanish club, the prayer group, Donegal Performing Arts and the peer tutoring program. She was a Link Crew leader.

Outside of school, Kara attends youth group and is a part of the worship team and the student leadership team at Community Bible Church. She also attends Calvary Bible Church and studies piano performance.

She plans to attend college to double major in history and English.

Timothy is the son of Scot and Kathleen Stehman of Mount Joy. He is a member of the German Club, the Key Club, Donegal Performing Arts, National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Science Olympiad, DNN TV Network, the jazz band, Tri-M Music Honor Society and the track and field team. He is also a peer tutor and a Link Crew leader.

Outside of school, Timothy is on a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team, a group that designs, builds, programs and operates robots to compete with other teams. He attends the youth group at his church and is a member of the Lancaster County Youth Conservation School, where he is a senior counselor for students learning about the environment and conservation.

After graduation, Timothy plans to attend college to major in environmental resource management.
