Bazaars to offer crafts, homemade food and attic treasures

For residents of the Twin Valley area and the Coventries, the second Saturday in November is informally known as "Bazaar Saturday." On that day, shoppers can find holiday gifts and decor, enjoy homemade foods and search for attic treasures at holiday bazaars offered at local churches.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, four church bazaars can be found right along the Route 23 corridor at St. Peter United Church of Christ (UCC), Brownback's UCC, Bethel United Methodist Church (UMC) and Moving Communities to Christ (MCC).

"We do find that people hit them all that day; that's why we like to keep it the same date as the others," said Marcia Bittner, one of the event organizers of the Christmas bazaar at St. Peter UCC. "I find that each bazaar offers something a little different."

The Christmas bazaar at St. Peter UCC, 1920 Ridge Road (Route 23), Knauertown, will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Offered for sale will be crafts, baked goods and vintage items.
