The Military Oral History Club of Lancaster County will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. at VFW Post 2435, 401 Manor St., Columbia. The meeting is open to the public.

Navy veteran Edward Conrad will be the guest speaker. Conrad was drafted in 1944 and assigned to the Seabees. He trained at multiple bases from New York to California and then shipped out to Okinawa in the spring of 1945, where his unit spent 12-hour days unloading cargo ships until the end of the war. After Japan surrendered, Conrad and his fellow Seabees stayed through the summer of 1946 before shipping home.
