Crime Stoppers presents reward for tip

The Lancaster County Crime Stoppers recently issued a monetary reward for a tip that led to an arrest in an East Earl Township vandalism spree.

In August and September, the East Earl Police Department investigated vandalism to 16 vehicles over three evenings. A nail was used to puncture the tires of the vehicles, causing nearly $14,000 worth of damage.

A number of residents provided video footage that showed the suspect was a man, but the police did not have any leads on the man's identity. They contacted Crime Stoppers, which resulted in a posting on the Crime Stoppers page on the Crimewatch website.

A couple came forward with information that identified a suspect, who was arrested and taken to Lancaster County Prison. He was also arrested on a warrant related to another matter. Suspects are presumed innocent; charges are accusations.

On its Crimewatch page, the East Earl Police Department recognized the work of patrolman Gary Sensenig and a team of officers that worked on the case.
