"Carols by Candlelight" concert posted

Arts on the Square, a series of musical and visual arts programs, will present "Carols by Candlelight: A John Rutter Christmas" on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m. at Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Second St., Harrisburg. Music of the famous British composer John Rutter will be featured throughout the program, along with poetry and Scripture, carol singing by the audience, and individual candle lighting.

Participants in "Carols by Candlelight" are the Sanctuary Choir of Market Square Church, a 30-piece orchestra, and an organist. Tyler A. Canonico, minister of music at the church, will conduct. Ethan Draper, organ scholar, and Peter Yardley-Jones, artist in residence, will play the organ. Among the Rutter pieces to be performed are his "Gloria," "Candlelight Carol," "O Holy Night," "Shepherd's Pipe Carol" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

A freewill offering will be received. Free parking is provided by the church in the adjacent Market Square Garage. Attendees should enter the church from the first level of the garage or use the event entrance on Second Street. The church is accessible to all people.
