Mulberry Art Studios honored for 35 years in business

Mulberry Art Studios celebrated 35 years of serving the community through arts, events, classes and more on June 30. Lancaster City Alliance honored this landmark achievement at a Milestone Awards ceremony held on Nov. 15 at the Ware Center.

April Koppenhaver, owner and founder of Mulberry Art Studios, accepted the award from Marshall Snively, president of Lancaster City Alliance; Danene Sorace, mayor of Lancaster City; and Dave Aichele, executive director, Downtown Investment District and director of clean & safe services.

Koppenhaver took some time to reflect on the accomplishment and thank those who not only helped bring her vision to life but worked alongside her to sustain it throughout 35 years.

Her vision for Mulberry Art Studios was as an art center where individuals of all walks of life could experience the synergy of artists of different disciplines working together under the same roof.

Koppenhaver expressed her gratitude to the painters, photographers, musicians, dancers, singers, performers, sculptors, potters, fabric artists, video/digital/film artists, writers, illustrators and the many churches and art patrons that support the studio.

Mulberry Art Studios is located in downtown Lancaster at 21 N. Mulberry St. For more information, visit http://www.facebook.com/mulberryartstudios or http://www.mulberryartstudios.com.
