The library will be closed on Saturday, Dec 23; Monday, Dec 25; and Monday, Jan 1, 2024.

Santa will visit the library on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon. Each family will receive a complimentary photo with Santa and a goodie bag to take home. The Friends of Milanof-Schock Library will also hold a cookie sale. No registration or library card needed. The event is sponsored by the Mount Joy Chamber of Commerce.

The Classical Guitar Society of Lancaster will present a concert of classical guitar pieces with a sprinkling of holiday tunes on Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Programs for children and teens include Fun Fort Friday for families on Dec. 8 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Adventures with Baby on Monday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 6 months to 2 years; Lego Challenge Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m.; and Fun Family Bingo on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m.

Family Story Time will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. through Dec. 21.

Several activities have been planned especially for homeschoolers age 7 and up. Homeschool Spanish Class will be offered at 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Dec. 7, 14, and 21. Homeschool Art Class will be available on Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. Homeschool STEM/History Mystery will take place on Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Teen Chill & Draw with Hannah will be held on Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. for teens who like to draw or want to learn. The library will provide supplies, but teens may also bring their own.

Activities for adults will include Adult Game Night on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Monday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; Make-It Monday - Festive Holiday Ornaments, for people age 14 and up, on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; book bingo on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m.; and Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required;

The library will show the movie "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. Free popcorn will be provided.

Book Discussion Group - Lit Lovers and the library's board will not meet in December.
