Board welcomes student representatives

The Hempfield Foundation recently welcomed Hempfield High School (HHS) students Alexandra Gregory and Tobin Marco as the first-ever student representatives to the organization's board of directors.

Alexandra and Tobin will work with foundation board members to provide a student's perspective on the work and initiatives of the organization. They will attend monthly meetings of the full board and contribute to the group's standing committees, which focus on areas such as fundraising, marketing, and governance.

Alexandra is the daughter of Bill and Stacey Gregory. She is a junior at HHS and a member of Student Council and the National Honor Society. She plays tennis and softball for Hempfield and operates her own nonprofit called Baking for Better, which has raised more than $4,500 for a wide variety of charities.

Tobin is the son of Greg and Lily Marco. He is a senior at HHS and a member of the golf, boys' swimming, and boys' lacrosse teams as well as the National Honor Society. He is a repeat honor roll student who plays a key role as student section leader in ensuring high levels of school spirit at events during the school year.

This year, the Hempfield Foundation is celebrating 30 years as an independent not-for-profit organization that supports the educational mission of the Hempfield School District through grants and scholarships.
