Foran named National Merit semifinalist

Lower Dauphin High School senior Abigail Foran was recently named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. This designation places her in the top 1% of all U.S. high school seniors and among the highest scoring PSAT test-takers in Pennsylvania.

Abigail is the daughter of Joseph and Donna Foran. She is a four-year member of the choir program. She has also been involved in the school's plays and musical theater productions all four years, including portraying Queen Elizabeth I in this fall's production of "Love, Liz" and Annie in last year's spring musical, "Annie." Abigail is the president and a four-year member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and a four-year member of the Science National Honor Society and Class Council. She is a three-year member of the National English Honor Society, National Honor Society and National French Language Honor Society. Abigail is also president and a four-year member of the high school's Thespian Society. She plans to attend college and pursue a degree in musical theater.

As a National Merit semifinalist, Abigail will continue in the competition and try to advance to the finalist level.
