The second annual Blue Christmas Drop-in Gathering will take place on Friday, Dec. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 39 N. Seventh St., Columbia. The event is for people who are experiencing grief or loss of any kind, or who are just feeling blue. It takes place at the home of Fred and Diana Thomas, who lost their daughter and son-in-law unexpectedly a few years ago.

The gathering will include candle lighting, printed messages available to read, and light refreshments.
