Website makes it easy to discover Elizabethtown

There's never a shortage of activity in Elizabethtown, and now community members can find out everything they want to know all in one place. The website http://www.discoverelizabethtown.com launched this summer as a source of information and inspiration.

Although the site went live this year, its roots date further back.

"This was an initiative that the Chamber started at the end of 2019 to highlight our town and all of the amazing places to eat, stay, play and shop," recalled Denise Grove, executive director of the Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce. "Due to COVID, it was put on hold and the site never went live."

Fast forward to 2023, when the Chamber again considered the idea of the website. Grove loved that it offered easy access to information.

"This is strictly a tourism/community site that highlights events and opportunities all in one place," she said. "We have listings for eat, stay, play and shop, as well as a community calendar to make it a one stop when visiting or for community members wanting to know everything that's happening."

The website also features an opportunity for community members to submit their community events, she said.

"We have a submission form for events as well as a way for businesses to claim their listing and keep their information up to date," she explained. Businesses can also highlight coupons, specials and other offers.

The simple format of the site is intended to make it easy to find what you're looking for, whether it's an upcoming special event or information on where to park in town.

Grove hopes people will turn to the site for information about places and events they're familiar with, while also discovering something new.

"Elizabethtown is an amazing place to live and visit," Grove said. "We have a variety of shopping, restaurants and events, and the Chamber is thrilled to bring this site to life."
