Grant to support Workforce Advocacy Program

The Factory Ministries received a $14,800 grant from Truist Foundation to further grow and scale the Workforce Advocacy Program within the Lancaster County business community.

The Workforce Advocacy Program supports the Truist Foundation's pillar of career pathways to economic mobility. The Factory Ministries has discovered that willing and capable workers who may appear unmotivated are often struggling to overcome poverty. The Workforce Advocacy Program seeks to increase employers' understanding of poverty, foster workplace communication, listen to employees' struggles, connect them with resources, coach them to success, and coach managers to encourage an empowered, empathetic approach. The outcome of this program has been tracked through business retention rates increasing and remaining stable over time, employees reporting greater job satisfaction, and managers and executives reporting an increased understanding of poverty-related issues and challenges.

The Factory Ministries is a hub connecting people to resources. The organization exists to reduce poverty in Lancaster County by walking alongside people who are under-resourced and empowering them with resources and tools to rise above their circumstances, further building a stronger community.
