York County Crops Day scheduled

The York County Crops Day will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the York County 4-H Center, 771 Stoverstown Road, York. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m., and a hot breakfast will be available. The program will begin at 9 a.m.

Penn State Extension field and forage crops specialists will share information on manure and nutrient management, along with forage crop production tips for 2024. Topics will include pesticide safety, York County agency updates, manure regulation reminders, PSNT sampling and interpretation, hay preservatives and forage additives for dry and ensiled forages, managing hay stands for longevity, and soybean integrated pest management. Continuing education credits are pending and include "2+2" core and private/agronomic crop category for Pennsylvania and Maryland, one CCA crop management and one CCA nutrient management, and two Pennsylvania nutrient management.
