The Children's Library is being remodeled, including updated paint, furnishings and carpet, and the creation of a new early learning room. Many children's books and audiobooks are available for checkout on the library's first floor, and story times and other children's programs will continue as scheduled. The library offers various activities regularly. In February, these will include Music and Movement, for children birth to age 6 with a parent or caregiver, on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 10:30 a.m.; Readers' Roundtable Book Discussion, featuring "Washington Black" by Esi Edugyan, on Monday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m.; Lego Creation Club on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 6 p.m.; Hooks and Needles: Yarn Craft Club, for people of all ages who knit or crochet, on Monday, Feb. 12, at 6:30 p.m.; On the Same Page Teen Book Club, featuring "El Deafo" by Cece Bell, on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m.; Preschool Story Time, for children ages 3 to 6, every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.; and Toddler Thursdays, for children birth to age 3, every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. In February, "Emotions" will be the topic of Preschool Story Time and Toddler Thursdays; siblings are welcome to join in.

Children of all ages accompanied by a parent or other caregiver may read aloud to Pepper the Labrador retriever during Read with Pepper the Pup! on Feb. 3 at 2 p.m.

All About Birds! will take place on Thursday, Feb. 29, at 6 p.m. Bird enthusiast Miss Jen will share information about these creatures and how they fit into the world.
