Hamilton Health Center names COO

Hamilton Health Center announced it has named Ami Zumkhawala, a health care administrator with more than two decades of health care administration experience, as its new chief operating officer (COO). Zumkhawala began her new role as COO on Jan. 29. Her selection rounds out the new leadership team at Hamilton Health Center following Terese DeLaPlaine's appointment as president and CEO more than a year ago.

Zumkhawala comes to Hamilton Health Center from the Northridge Consulting Group, a national management consulting firm, where she served as managing director. In that role, she oversaw growth and delivery of health care services and was a strategic adviser to a wide range of health care clients, from health systems and providers to payer groups and pharmaceutical companies.

A longtime resident of the greater Harrisburg area, Zumkhawala has spent most of her career working for local hospitals and health systems that serve the southcentral Pennsylvania region. Her previous positions have included director of Penn State Health Children's Hospital, administrative director of hospital operations at Geisinger Holy Spirit Health in Camp Hill, operations director for Geisinger Holy Spirit's neuroscience program, and chief compliance and privacy officer for Holy Spirit Health System.

Zumkhawala earned her bachelor's degree from Miami University in Ohio and two master's degrees from Xavier University.
