Elizabethtown Fair wins awards

Officers, directors and members of the Elizabethtown Fair Committee attended workshops and seminars at the State Convention of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs (PSACF) from Jan. 17 to 20 at the Hershey Lodge. PSACF comprises 108 fairs across the state.

Charley Kramer, 2023 Elizabethtown Fair queen, participated in the State Fair Queen Competition from Jan. 18 to 20. She competed against 59 fair queens from across Pennsylvania.

All fairs were encouraged to participate in the Communications Competition, which was also part of the convention. The competition included categories for Fair Premium Book, Fair Premium Tabloid, Non-Premium Tabloid, Website, Video Tape, PowerPoint, Fair Display, Creative Fair Idea, Digital Scrapbook, Scrapbook, Scrapbook Cover, Brochure, Placemat, Creative Fair Idea and Promotional and Advertising Campaign.

At the Communications Breakfast, the Elizabethtown Fair was recognized for placing first for its placemat, which was prepared by Freedom Graphics and incorporated photographs taken by Rachel George and a cover painting by Nancy Landis. Additionally, the fair placed third for its premium tabloid prepared by Engle Printing and Publishing Co., Inc., and third for the creative floor display prepared by George.

The Elizabethtown Fair Board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, 996 E. High St., Elizabethtown. The public is invited to attend.
