Corty Byron to perform music of Johnny Cash

Elizabethtown musician Corty Byron will perform the music of Johnny Cash at a concert at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Christ Church United Church of Christ (UCC), 247 S. Market St., Elizabethtown. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Byron will perform a solo acoustic set featuring a career retrospective of Cash. He has been performing Cash's music for more than a decade and has recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis, Tenn., and at the gates of Folsom Prison. Byron's love of Cash's music was passed on to him by his late grandfather, Ken Reighard, who encouraged his grandson to pursue music and gave him his first Cash record.

This is the third year that Byron has performed the concert at Christ Church UCC. Donations from this year's concert will go to Hoffman Homes, a nonprofit organization that provides both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health treatment, educational services and other county-funded residential-based services to youths, young adults and their families across the commonwealth.
