Marine Corps veteran to speak at meeting

The Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable will meet on Thursday, March 7, at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 433 E. Main St., Hummelstown. The program will also be livestreamed on the group's YouTube channel, "Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable."

The speaker will be U.S. Marine Corps veteran Walter LaSota, who served in combat with the 6th Marine Division during World War II and was in the Battle of Okinawa. LaSota, a private first class, was wounded in action twice, earning a Purple Heart Medal. His unit was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation for its actions on Okinawa.
