Manufacturers' Association re-elects board members

Patty Marrero, vice president of organization development and talent acquisition at Phoenix Contact, Scott Strickler, chief operating officer of New Concept Technology (NCT) and Neil Poffenberger, plant manager and site leader at Eagle Casting LLC, were recently re-elected for their second term of the Manufacturers' Association board of directors.

Seth Hansen, operations director from Harley Davidson, stepped down from the board after he completed his two three-year board terms. Board members are limited to two terms.

The Manufacturers' Association is a nonprofit regional trade association led by a private sector board of directors made up from its membership. The board includes manufacturing and non-manufacturing association members. Founded in 1906, the Manufacturers' Association is the manufacturing industry's trade group for hundreds of member and non-member organizations in central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland.

At Phoenix Contact, Marrero has been involved in the company's organizational development since 2005. Phoenix Contact USA, located in Middletown, was one of the first international subsidiaries, founded in 1981, from the global company that was founded in Germany in 1923. The company celebrated its 100th anniversary last year. The U.S. headquarters is home to a manufacturing and distribution center and employs more than 600 employees in Harrisburg and an additional 250 employees throughout the U.S. In addition to her board role at the association, Marrero also co-chairs the NextGen Advanced Manufacturing Partnership in southcentral Pennsylvania.

Strickler provides strategic leadership and department guidance and oversees the daily operations of NCT, which was founded in 1985 and today employs nearly 200 employees. Strickler joined NCT in 2019, following 24 years in senior operational, engineering and management roles with TE Connectivity. A resident of Dover, he is a graduate of Millersville University and has served six years with the United States Navy.

Poffenberger has more than 35 years' experience in the foundry industry. Eagle Casting employs more than 150 people and produces more than 40,000 tons of castings per year. Poffenberger is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic vision, goals and objectives for the division, as well as managing the budget, capital investments and customer relations. Prior to joining Eagle Casting, Poffenberger served as vice president of R.H. Sheppard Co. and foundry division general manager, with experience in manufacturing, engineering, pattern shop, sales, HR, quality and purchasing functions and profit and loss responsibilities. A resident of Hanover, Poffenberger currently serves on the Manufacturing Advisory Committee for Penn State University and is also a board member for two joint venture companies located in China.

Marrero, Strickler and Poffenberger will start their second terms at the next board of directors meeting in March.
