Easter Eggstravaganzas to feature egg hunts, games and more

Freedom Life Church will host Easter Eggstravaganzas this year at its main campus in Christiana, as well as at Muddy Run Park in Holtwood. The events will be Saturday, March 30, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at both locations.

During each Easter Eggstravaganza, which is being organized by the FL Kids Team, children will be able enjoy inflatables, face painting, concessions and games. There will also be a chance to meet with live animals like rabbits and chicks.

Last year, the events were held for the first time at both locations in order to accommodate the growing number of families. "At Muddy Run, we had 600 kids (in attendance), and at main campus, we had about 300," said Gina Turk, FL Kids Team director. "That morning, we hid 15,000 eggs at Muddy Run and 5,000 for the main campus."

For the egg hunt, children will be separated by age groups. Children can collect as many eggs as they can carry; youngsters should bring their own bags or baskets. The eggs will have small gifts or candy inside, and several of the eggs will contains certificates for larger prizes, such as Squishmallows.

The activities and egg hunt are open to children up to fifth grade. Admission is free, and pregistration is not required.

"The best part of our Easter Eggstravaganzas are the endless smiles," Turk added. "We have the privilege to create special moments for families that they'll always remember."

Freedom Life's main campus is located at 447 Noble Road, Christiana. The church's Quarryville campus meets at Smith Middle School, 645 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville.

Families are also invited to attend Easter weekend events at Freedom Life, which will include a Good Friday service and Resurrection Sunday celebrations. Worship and Communion will take place on Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at both Freedom Life locations. FL Kids will offer a special Children's Church Good Friday service for youngsters in fifth grade and younger.

On Easter Sunday, March 31, celebration services will be offered at 9 and 11 a.m. at the main campus and at 10 a.m. at Smith Middle School. Doughnuts will be provided.
