ELANCO Library posts schedule

The Eastern Lancaster County (ELANCO) Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, will offer a variety of events and programs to the community. Registration is not required, unless noted. For details, visit http://www.elancolibrary.org or contact 717-354-0525 or adagostino@elancolibrary.org.

The library is renovating and expanding its Children's Library. Donations are sought to help the library reach its capital campaign goal of raising $57,000. To donate, visit http://www.elancolibrary.org/give.

The library offers various activities regularly. In May, these will include Music and Movement, for children birth to age 6 with a parent or caregiver, on Saturday, May 4, at 10:30 a.m.; Readers' Roundtable Book Discussion, featuring "The Sweetness of Water" by Nathan Harris, on Monday, May 6, at 2 p.m.; Lego Creation Club on Thursday, May 9, at 6 p.m.; Hooks and Needles: Yarn Craft Club, for people of all ages who knit or crochet, on Monday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m.; On the Same Page Teen Book Club, featuring "Measuring Up" by Lily LaMotte, on Tuesday, May 28, at 3 p.m.; Preschool Story Time, for children ages 3 to 6, every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.; and Toddler Thursdays, for children from birth to age 3, every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Siblings are welcome to join in at Preschool Story Time and Toddler Thursdays.

Children of all ages accompanied by a parent or other caregiver may read aloud to Pepper the Labrador retriever during Read with Pepper the Pup! on May 4 at 2 p.m.

Nature Journaling in Your Garden, a Longwood Gardens Community Read Program, will be offered on Saturday, May 11, at 11 a.m. Attendees will learn how to connect with personal and community gardens through the art of nature journaling, and they will practice basic techniques and skills.

A Homeschool Curriculum and Book Swap will be held on Saturday, May 18. From 11 to 11:45 a.m., homeschooling families may drop off educational materials they no longer need and enjoy light refreshments and social time. From 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., attendees may take materials without charge or condition on a first-come, first-served basis.
