Library sets programs

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, will offer a variety of programming. All programs are free, unless stated otherwise, and require preregistration. For more information and to register, visit http://www.mslibrary.org or call 717-653-1510.

The Kraybill Mennonite School Student Art Show will take place at the library on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to noon. This event is free and open to the public.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Programs for children and teens include Fun Fort Friday for families on April 12 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Teen Chill & Draw with Hanna on Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m.; Adventures with Baby on Monday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 6 months to 2 years; Lego Challenge on Tuesday, April 9, at 6 p.m.; and Fun Family Bingo on Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m.

Family Story Time will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays in April.

Several activities have been planned especially for homeschoolers. Unless otherwise noted, these activities are open to children age 7 and up. Homeschool Art Class will be offered on April 9 at 10:30 a.m. Homeschool STEM will take place on April 16 at 10:30 a.m. A special Homeschool STEM program will take place at the Mount Joy Wastewater Treatment Plant, 159 S. Jacob St., Mount Joy, on Thursday, April 25, at 1:15 p.m.; this activity is for children age 5 and up. Homeschool History Mystery will be held on Tuesday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m.

Marietta Family Story Time will be held at 100 W. Market St., Marietta, inside the old First National Bank, on April 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Teen D&D, open to youths ages 12 to 19, will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. Interested individuals may contact Jan Betty at jbetty@mslibrary.org.

Activities for adults will include Adult Game Night on Wednesday, April 3 and 17, at 5 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, April 8 and 22, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; book bingo on Wednesday, April 10, at 6 p.m. and April 17 at 2 p.m.; Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on April 17 at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on Saturday, April 20, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Lit Lovers Book Discussion Group on Tuesday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m.; and Make-It Monday - TBA, for people age 14 and up, on April 29 at 6 p.m.

The Friends of the Library will have its monthly meeting on April 8 at 6:30 p.m.

The movie "The 15:17 to Paris" will be shown on April 10 at 1:30 p.m. Free popcorn will be provided.

Bicycle Maintenance and Tire Repair will be offered at April 15 at 6 p.m. Information about basic bicycle repair will be provided by Kurt Enck, a library volunteer and bicycle enthusiast who works at Cycleworks.

Community members are welcome to attend the library's board meeting on Thursday, April 18, at 6:30 p.m.

Teams of up to four people may compete in a Jigsaw Puzzle Showdown on April 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. All teams will be given an identical 500-piece puzzle to assemble. The team that completes the puzzle first will win a prize.
