Banquet to feature dinner, guest speaker

The Quittapahilla Audubon Society will hold its annual banquet at Hebron Banquet Hall, 701 E. Walnut St., Lebanon, on Tuesday, May 21. Doors will open at 6 p.m.; dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.

"Meet the Magnificent Marbled Salamander" will be presented by David Hand, a nature photographer and naturalist who lives in western Schuylkill County. His main interest is studying the lives of salamanders, in particular the marbled salamander (Ambystoma opacum). He will share his knowledge of the life cycle of the marbled salamander through his own pictures, videos and field observations. Hand's work with the marbled salamander has been featured in Reptiles magazine.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to win prizes. Reservations are due by Saturday, May 11. For further information and to obtain a reservation form, visit http://www.qasaudubon.org. There will be a fee for the meal.
