Hoffman honored at Model UN event

Bradford Hoffman of Morgantown and his teammates at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, received the Outstanding Delegation honor in the Model United Nations (UN) international competition in New York City. The closing ceremony was held at the United Nations General Assembly hall.

The event is an educational simulation in which college students represent UN member states. The students presented papers, drafted resolutions, and served on committees as they attempted to solve relevant issues for their assigned country. Cedarville represented Myanmar, a country in Southeast Asia.

In preparation for the event, students researched Myanmar, authored papers on the country's positions, and prepared to mimic their real UN diplomatic presence in the General Assembly and various other committees.
