Groundbreaking planned for new museum

The ceremonial groundbreaking for the Thaddeus Stevens & Lydia Hamilton Smith Center for History and Democracy on Monday, May 13, from 9 to 11 a.m.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. in Commons on Vine in the Lancaster County Convention Center, 25 S. Queen St., Lancaster. Coffee and pastries will be available, and local dignitaries will present remarks. Afterward, attendees may tour the Stevens & Smith Center for a behind-the-scenes look at the space before construction officially begins.
