Workforce Development Board creates kiosks

The Lancaster County Workforce Development Board (LCWDB) recently placed 35 educational kiosks in schools and local organizations throughout the county. The kiosks provide students, job seekers, and other community members with access to information about career pathways, training programs, and career opportunities within the county with local businesses.

The kiosks are placed in strategic locations, including 27 public and private high schools, community services locations, public libraries, and the PA CareerLink of Lancaster County.

The LCWDB partnered with the Lancaster Chamber to host ribbon-cutting events during the week on May 7 at various locations.

The kiosks feature a variety of interactive features, including a career assessment tool to help users identify their interests and skills, information about in-demand jobs and industries in Lancaster County, a directory of training programs and educational institutions, a job board with listings for open positions, and connection to the Inspire platform where students and businesses can engage on career exploration opportunities.

The LCWDB will also provide training to school staff members and community partners on how to use the educational kiosks. The goal is to make the kiosks a valuable resource for all Lancaster County residents who are seeking information about career and workforce development opportunities. The content on the kiosk will also be accessible through the Career Ready Lancaster! website at http://www.careerreadylancaster.com.

Companies or organizations that would like to be included on the kiosk may contact Mary Byrd at mbyrd@lancastercountywib.com.
