Assembling Primitive Traps

Jun 8

Building primitive traps is not just about catching animals for nourishment. It’s a lesson in physics, patience, wildcrafting, ancestry, and the ecological goings-on of the wild spaces we’re spending time in.

In this class, we will construct simple effective traps for procuring meat in a survival setting by modest means. Snares and deadfalls are straightforward, uncomplicated as well as easily constructed and require little materials. But, they are very potent with the correct technique and understanding of animal behavior. Basic knife skills will be covered and a sharp locking or fixed blade knife is required.

This class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 8.
