Library posts June programs

Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, Hellam, will offer programs and services to the community. For details and registration, call the library at 717-252-4080 or visit http://www.yorklibraries.org.

Registration for SummerQuest is open at http://www.yorklibraries.org/summerquest. SummerQuest will take place from Saturday, June 1, through Sunday, Aug. 18. The theme will be "Adventure Begins at Your Library." To be eligible for prizes, community members should register with their library card on Beanstack at https://yorklibraries.beanstack.org. Once registered, they may pick up a packet starting June 1. Prize pickup will begin Monday, June 10.

KCL's upcoming programs include Baby and Toddler Story Time for children from birth to age 3 on Wednesdays, June 12 and 26; Kindermusik for children birth to age 3 on Wednesday, June 19; and Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 on Fridays, June 14 and 21. These programs will run from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., and reservations are required.

Phoe, Fi, Fo, Fun - a program geared for preschoolers - will take place on Monday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m. Junior volunteer Phoe will lead stories, songs, and a craft based on the theme "Beach Adventure." Reservations are requested.

Preschoolers are invited to attend a Taco Dragon story time on Monday, June 24, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. The event will include a story, a craft, and photo opportunities with the costume character Taco Dragon.

A "Where the Wild Things Are" story time for children age 4 and up will be held on Friday, June 28, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. A naturalist from Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will participate in the program, which will include a reading of the book by Maurice Sendak, discussion, and animal-themed games.

DIY Marble Maze will be offered on Thursday, June 13, from 2 to 3 p.m. for children ages 6 to 10. Space is limited, and reservations are requested. Participants will use everyday supplies to create a maze and test it out.

Builder's Club, for children ages 6 to 12, will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Thursday, June 20, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Perler Bead Crafternoon of Fun, for children ages 6 to 18, will take place on Thursday, June 27, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Drawing for All will be offered on Thursdays, June 13, 20, and 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. for people age 10 and up, including adults. Artist Robert Oughton will share a variety of drawing techniques. Participants should bring something to draw on and something to draw with.

A new themed Lego challenge will be posted on the library's Facebook page each Monday morning from June 10 through July 29. People of all ages may email a photo of their creations to kreutzcreeklibrary@yorklibraries.org, and the winner will be announced on Monday, Aug. 5.

Little House at the Library will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. on five Wednesdays beginning June 12; the other June dates are June 19 and 26. This year marks 50 years since the pilot episode for "Little House on the Prairie" aired on NBC. During the library program, participants will read the book and celebrate this children's literature classic with Jeremy Young of Historic Wrightsville Inc. The program is for children ages 9 to 11.

Activities for tweens ages 9 to 11 will be offered on Tuesdays, June 11 and 18, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Danger Club will meet on June 11, and Library Squad will gather on June 18.

Youths ages 12 to 18 may visit with therapy dog Birdie between 5 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.

Diamond Art Stickers for Teens will be held on June 11 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Diamond painting, also known as crystal art, is the process of applying tiny resin rhinestones to a preprinted design, usually an adhesive board, to create mosaic-style art. Attendees may make a diamond art sticker, and all materials will be provided.

A Teen Anime Watch Party will be held on June 18 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Manga Book Club for teens will take place on June 15 at 1:30 p.m. This program will occur after the library is closed to the public. Only teens attending this program will be allowed inside.

The Spoiler Alert! teen book review group will meet via Zoom on Thursday, June 6, at 5 p.m. Reservations are requested.

Phredd the One Man Band will perform at the library on June 20 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Children ages 8 to 11 may make a T-shirt tote bag on June 18 from 2 to 3 p.m. Attendees should bring a T-shirt of any size. A few T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Youths ages 12 to 18 may play board games at the library on Tuesday, June 25, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Stitch and Chat groups, for knitters and crocheters, will meet on June 6 and 20 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. and on Tuesdays, June 4 and 18, from 1 to 2:45 p.m.

Reiki Meditation with Miranda will take place on June 6 at 6:30 p.m.

York Chess Club, for people of all ages, will be held on June 4, 11, and 18 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Green Thumb Garden Club will meet on June 13 at 6:30 p.m. Melanie Markowski will present "Create an Inviting Butterfly Garden."

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will meet on June 25 at 5:30 p.m.
