ECHOS will host open house to introduce new executive director

Change is in the air at Elizabethtown Community Housing and Outreach Services (ECHOS), and the organization is eager to spread the news. A new executive director, Ashley Bulley, was hired in May to lead the nonprofit. The public is invited to meet Bulley and learn more about ECHOS at an open house on Monday, June 17. The event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 105 E. Washington St., Elizabethtown.

Prior to joining ECHOS, Bulley spent nine years working for Girl Scouts, most recently serving as chief operating officer for Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay. She has extensive experience in overseeing operations and handling change management.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the crucial work at ECHOS," Bulley said. "I envision an organization that is strategically positioned for sustainable growth, meeting the needs of our community through ongoing investment in our staff, board and most importantly, the people we serve."

Since 2015, ECHOS has been working to empower families and individuals experiencing housing instability or insufficient income in the northwest region of Lancaster County. The organization provides a holistic approach with a range of services, including case advocacy to help clients navigate social services, eviction prevention programs and job readiness and workforce development initiatives. Temporary housing is offered through an emergency shelter program.

With her extensive background in service, Bulley will help ECHOS continue its mission of serving people in need, said Chris Rich, ECHOS board chair, who added, "Year after year, the needs in our community continue to grow. With Ashley's leadership, ECHOS will increase its capacity and position ECHOS to strategically meet those needs."

At the open house, people will have the opportunity to meet ECHOS staff members, tour the facility and learn more about programs and services offered through the organization.
