Middletown parish to host festival

Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish will hold its summer festival from Thursday to Saturday, June 20 to 22, rain or shine, on the parish grounds, 280 N. Race St., Middletown. The festival will run from 5 to 9 p.m. nightly and will include a flea market, a cash giveaway drawing, a basket giveaway drawing, a jewelry extravaganza, bingo, and games for people of all ages.

Patrons can sit indoors and enjoy homemade meals of honey-glazed chicken, halupki, pierogies, haluski, and baked goods in the cafeteria. Outside food will include Schmidt's sausage, gourmet chicken cheesesteaks, chicken tenders, grilled food, and seasoned fries. On Friday, June 21, and June 22 only, Farm Show milkshakes will be available.

Live entertainment will be presented from 6 to 9 p.m. The performers will be Occasions Disc Jockeys on June 20, Crossing Abbey Road on June 21, and Ben Simcox on June 22.

Seven Sorrows School alumni night will be June 21.

On June 21 and 22, the event will offer a 60-foot-long, two-lane obstacle course with a 17-foot slide and bounce house for kids.

New this year, a cornhole tournament will take place on June 22. Registration is required and will be available at the event.

The giveaway drawing drawings will also be held on June 22.
