Longtime Schreiber client welcomed as intern

The Schreiber Center announced that Aubrey Jacoby, a longtime client and recent Dallastown High School graduate, has joined the fund development department as a summer intern. Aubrey's journey from therapy client to intern exemplifies the center's mission to empower children with disabilities and developmental delays to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling, independent lives.

Diagnosed with Treacher Collins syndrome and cerebral palsy, Aubrey has been a client at the Schreiber Center since she was 3 years old. Overcoming significant challenges, including more than 80 surgeries, Aubrey has shown resilience and determination. Her progress has been supported by the speech-language, physical, and occupational therapists at the Schreiber Center.

This summer, Aubrey will primarily focus on creating videos for the fund development team to support its efforts in raising $2.5 million annually. These funds are crucial for making up the difference between the cost of services and reimbursement from government medical assistance and insurance. Aubrey will use her video editing skills, previously showcased through her creative TikTok videos, to engage the community and potential donors.

In addition to her passion for video editing, Aubrey has a love for small animals, particularly hamsters. She has developed extensive knowledge about their care and aspires to turn this passion into a future career or volunteer opportunity after her internship, continuing her journey toward independence and a fulfilling career.

The Schreiber Center is committed to supporting children and teens like Aubrey, helping them reach their goals and strive for more. For more information, visit http://www.schreiberpediatric.org.
