Elizabethtown Area High School honored Mikaela Condran and Nathan Merlo as the Rotary Club Students of the Month for June. This recognition is part of a program dedicated to celebrating student achievements, fostering a culture of learning, and highlighting the significant contributions that students make to the high school community.

Mikaela, the daughter of Matthew and Erin Condran of Elizabethtown, is a member of National Honor Society (NHS), Key Club, human rights club, and Reading Olympics. At past underclass awards programs, she was honored for her performance in Honors Biology, German 2, and Competition Science. During her time on the Competition Science team, Mikaela's awards included Senior Reserve Champion in the Chemistry and Materials Science category and third place in the Energy category at the North Museum Science and Engineering Fair. In Science Olympiad, she was a three-time regional medalist in Forensics and Green Generation, qualifying for the state competition annually.

She captained the Lancaster-Lebanon League (L-L League) Section 2 champion field hockey team and won numerous accolades, including the Big E Booster Club Offensive MVP title in 2022 and 2023, L-L League Section 2 All-Star and academic team All-Star, academic all-state team, and second team all-state.

Mikaela plans to attend Williams College to study biochemistry or environmental science and play field hockey.

Nathan is the son of Peter and Kathy Merlo. With a 4.0 GPA, he ranks among the top 10 students in his class. Nathan is a member of NHS, the cross-country and track and field teams, the concert and marching bands, the orchestra, and Model United Nations. He has completed community service through his involvement in Key Club.

He is a member of Hope Community Church in Mount Joy and participates in the youth group at Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church.

Nathan plans to study cybersecurity at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
