GEARS will offer a Girls' Middle School Volleyball Program, with participants competing in a middle school volleyball league. Teams are for girls in grades five and six and seven and eight. The program will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from Aug. 12 to Oct. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gym at Bear Creek School, 1459 Sheaffer Road, Elizabethtown. League play will be on Mondays in September, with match times between 6 and 8 p.m. The season will finish with a tournament on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26 and 27. The fee includes the league fee, league tournaments, uniforms, and AAU insurance.

Representatives of M&T Bank will present a program about identity theft on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. Topics will include the types of identity theft and fraud, signs these activities may have occurred, and strategies to protect against identity theft and fraud. The class is free and open to people age 18 and up. Preregistration is required.
