Cavod Performing Arts, 665 W. Main St., New Holland, will hold auditions for "Mary Poppins" on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9 and 10, with dance call on Sunday, Aug. 11, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and callbacks on Aug. 11 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, "Mary Poppins" features young Jane and Michael Banks and their new nanny, Mary Poppins. Using a combination of magic and common sense, Poppins takes the children on memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael are not the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from this one-of-a-kind nanny.

The production will be directed by Jaime Hilton and performed from Friday to Sunday, Oct. 18 to 20, and Friday to Sunday, Oct. 25 to 27.

Rehearsals will begin Friday, Aug. 23, and generally run on Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m.

Cavod is seeking people who sing, act, and dance, as well as those who only dance.

People age 8 and up who would like to sing, act, and dance may sign up to audition at https://tinyurl.com/CAVOD-Poppins. They should prepare a 1-minute monologue and sing 16 to 32 bars of a musical theater song that shows off their vocal and acting range. An 8-by-10-inch headshot with an acting resume stapled to the back is required. Sheet music is also required; an accompanist will be provided.

Anyone who would like to submit a video audition may email a headshot, a resume, and a video of themselves performing a 1-minute monologue and singing a 16- to 32-bar segment, along with a live or pre-recorded instrumental accompaniment, to bergen@cavod.org. Video audition materials must be received by Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Those age 14 and up who are only interested in a featured dancer role may skip a regular audition and attend the dance call only from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11.
