WellSpan adds physical therapist

WellSpan Rehabilitation in Palmyra has announced that Jessica Spero has joined the staff as a physical therapist specializing in pelvic health.

Spero obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Florida in 2017. She has earned her board certification as an orthopedic clinical specialist, completed an orthopedic residency and received advanced training in pelvic health through the American Physical Therapy Association.

Pelvic health physical therapists treat a wide variety of conditions for both male and female patients, including urinary and fecal incontinence or pelvic pain resulting from pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. Therapists also assist with managing low back pain and maintaining and restoring optimal pelvic health and pelvic function through pregnancy and post-delivery. In addition, pelvic health specialists support the male population experiencing incontinence related to prostate dysfunction and post-prostatectomy.

All treatment plans are built on the latest research and personalized to address the needs and preferences of each patient. Sessions may include education, hands-on therapy, functional training and exercises for pelvic awareness, connection and control.

WellSpan Rehabilitation Palmyra is located at 1400 S. Forge Road in the WellSpan Health Center and offers both physical and occupational therapy. Call 717-832-0962 or visit http://www.wellspan.org to learn more or to schedule an appointment.
