Lower Swatara Lions Club named Lliam Butler-Sylvia as the Student of the Marking Period for the third quarter. He is the son of Christine Butler of Middletown. Lliam was honored for exhibiting Raider PRIDE - which stands for perseverance, respect, integrity, discipline, and excellence - both inside and outside of the classroom. Lliam is a model student.

The Student of the Marking Period honor is a new program initiated by the Lions Club to recognize students who show excellence and school spirit in their academic performance.

The Lions Club is a community service organization based in Lower Swatara Township. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at the organization's clubhouse, 2 Theodore Ave., Middletown.
