Children aid Ronald McDonald House

Wrightsville Elementary School's Bible Adventure released time program collected a record-breaking 309 pounds of soda tabs this past school year. Throughout the year, the 86 students registered for Bible Adventure collected the tabs, which will be taken to the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey. The tabs will be recycled for money, which will allow families that have children being treated at Penn State Health Children's Hospital to receive free lodging and meals at the Ronald McDonald House. The house is located near the hospital, making travel to the medical facility easier for families, and it also provides a playroom for siblings.

The nonprofit Bible Adventure program is state-approved and operated by Joy El Generation. It allows third- through 12th-grade students in public schools to leave their classrooms for one hour each week to receive Bible instruction. The students also learn worship songs and Bible stories, and they memorize Scripture. The program is offered to kids at schools across Lancaster County, and more information is available at http://www.joyelgeneration.org.

Tabs may be donated at Lehman's Feed Store, 6141 Lincoln Highway, Wrightsville.
