Manada Conservancy posts events

Manada Conservancy will host a "Backyard Birds" program for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Ave., Hershey.

Kids will learn about the birds they see and hear in their backyards during this program presented by naturalists from Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation. This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Hershey Public Library.

The conservancy will hold a summer native plant sale on Thursday, Aug. 22, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at East Hanover Township Nature Park, 328 N. Crawford Road, Grantville. The event will take place rain or shine. Late-blooming perennials and native grasses will be available to purchase.

The event will include giveaway drawings for gift cards to local restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions, as well as gift baskets. Tickets may be purchased with cash only, and proceeds will benefit Manada Conservancy.
