Volleyball tournament to celebrate recovery

The 11th annual Nicole Conway Recovery Volleyball Tournament will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fairview Park on Fairview Road in Columbia. Each year, the event brings together community members, public figures, local businesses, and behavioral health providers. It offers a platform for individuals in recovery to share their stories, for allies to offer support, and for everyone to connect with prevention, treatment, and recovery programs available throughout southcentral Pennsylvania.

This year's event is presented by the Recovery Opportunity & Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity that manages a fund directly benefiting children who have lost their parents to overdose.

Teams of five will compete in the double-elimination tournament, with prizes for the winners. Registration is open, with a set fee per team.

The event will aim to raise awareness about the importance of substance use treatment and mental health treatment. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the various services and resources available to individuals and families throughout the region. Local food trucks will be on-site, and attendees will be able to enter giveaway drawings throughout the day.

Sponsorships are available. To register a team or for more information, visit http://www.facebook.com/blueprintsrecovery. Information is also available by emailing Ashlee Kaley at akaley@blueprintsrecovery.com.
