The tenacity of grace

Megan Feveryear is on a mission. For the last few years, the Nashville resident - formerly of the eastern Lancaster County - has been bringing women's conferences to the New Holland Church of the Nazarene. This fall, Feveryear is organizing a conference for women of all ages, but designed specifically to appeal to mothers and daughters.

"This one is (called) Grace Wants You," said Feveryear, who explained the conference is named for the ministry she will present with at the New Holland Church of the Nazarene, 428 Ranck Road, New Holland, on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is a cost to attend the conference for all registered participants, with an added fee for an optional lunch.

According to Feveryear, she became acquainted with Janene and Elena Dubbeld - "a sweet mother and daughter who do women's conferences"- through a virtual Bible study the three were enrolled in during COVID-19 restrictions. "We are (all) passionate about women and ministry and pouring into each lady to remind her that she is so loved and the underlying truth that we are all wanted by God's grace," explained Feveryear. "At the end, we decided we wanted to do something together aside from this Bible study."

According to Feveryear, the day will begin with registration, followed by a worship kickoff led by Elena and then a welcome by Feveryear. "Janene, Elena's mom, will share her incredible testimony," said Feveryear, who noted that Janene was abandoned by her parents on the doorstep of a stranger when she was only a baby. "Those strangers became her adopted family," noted Feveryear. "When she was only a day old, God was chasing after her from the doorsteps of the random stranger's house." Janene's testimony will be followed by lunch and another time of worship, before a question-and-answer time, which will end at 3:30 p.m. "(Attendees) can ask any questions that are on their hearts," said Feveryear.

Feveryear encourages area women to come and take part in the event. "In this season, we need to be reminded more than ever that God's grace is chasing after us," she said. "No matter your age, you will hear that the grace of God is after you and wants you."

Women who wish to take part in the conference may register ahead of time by searching for "Grace Wants You" at https://app.ticketleap.com/events. Individuals may also register at the church on the day of the event. Those who wish to purchase a preferred ticket, which will include lunch at the church, are encouraged to register online by Friday, Oct. 11.
