Programs to highlight Manheim's history

The Manheim Historical Society's second annual Historically Haunting Walking Tours will take place on 1st Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Fasig and Keath log homes, 30-32 E. High St., Manheim. The tours will depart from the Fasig House, weather permitting.

"Walk Through Time" tours will be offered at 5, 6, and 7 p.m. Sharry Theal will lead the 30- to 45-minute tours, which will not include ghost tales.

"Spirits of the Past of Haunted Manheim" tours, led by Robert Kreider, will be held at 6 and 7 p.m. These tours will last 45 to 60 minutes.

All tours are free, and people may sign up 10 minutes before their preferred tour time.

Another event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Manheim Railroad Station, 210 S. Charlotte St. Shawn Patrick and Nick Sieber will present "Collecting Antique Phonographs." The event will also include free museum tours, an opportunity to view Stiegel-type glass, a model train exhibit, and, weather permitting, trolley rides and walking tours.
