Cooking with the Seasons: Autumn Harvest Meal will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Attendees will be guided through the preparation of a four-course, plant-based meal featuring local, fresh, and in-season produce. The planned menu includes a kale salad topped with fall fruit, mashed potatoes and a root vegetable roast, stuffed squash, and cookies. The menu is subject to change based on produce availability. Each aspiring chef will make enough for two meals, which they can enjoy at the end of class or take home.

Participants should contact the Horn Farm at the aforementioned number or email address or the instructor at preservinghome@hotmail.com at least four days in advance to disclose any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Roots & Drupes: Mid-Fall Foraging Walk will take place on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will look for late-season flowers and fruits, as well as roots and twigs, that can be used for a variety of purposes, including food and medicine. Foragers of any level of experience, including beginners, are welcome.
