Library posts programs

Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, will offer a variety of activities to the community. For more details and registration, contact the library at 717-626-2255 or visit http://www.lititzlibrary.org.

The library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29.

The third annual Local Author Expo will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon. Local authors will be stationed around the library to sell and sign copies of their books. Aaron's Books will also sell books and related items. Light refreshments will be served in the boardroom, and free library swag will be available.

The library will offer several ongoing programs. These activities include Knitting Club, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, Nov. 4 and 18, at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 6 p.m.; Baked Books Club on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m.; Beginner Tai Chi Easy on Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m.; Lititz Game Club, for players age 10 and older, on Wednesdays, Nov. 6 and 20, at 4:30 p.m.; Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County on Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.; Painting Club on Wednesdays, Nov. 13 and 27, at 12:30 p.m.; Great Decisions Discussion Group on Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m.; Exploring Growing Together Discussion Forum on Thursdays, Nov. 7 and 14, at 11 a.m.; Lititz Garden Club on Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m.; Writing Club on Nov. 18 at 1 p.m.; Jane Austen Society on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m.; the Lititz Art Association meeting on Nov. 26 at 6 p.m.; the Art of Your Energy Meditation GroupĀ on Nov. 27 at noon; Literary Travelers Book Club on Friday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m.; and Accessible Yoga with Black Cat Yoga on Nov. 22 at 10 a.m.

Members of the Blanketeers will gather to make blankets of various kinds for Project Linus on Tuesdays, Nov. 5 and 19, at 2 p.m.

Robin Work will perform in concert at the library on Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Work will perform selections from the Great American Songbook, including tunes by the Gershwins, Cole Porter, and Jerome Kern.

The Mitten Tree and Gift-a-Book programs will run from Nov. 18 to Saturday, Dec. 14. Community members may bring new gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, earmuffs, and socks to the library to help decorate the Mitten Tree; all donated items will go to local families in need. The Gift-a-Book program allows people to browse a selection of books and purchase one for the library. Participants can put a holiday bookplate in the book and be the first to check it out.

WellSpan and the American Heart Association will offer free blood pressure screenings and heart health wellness information on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. This date is a departure from the regular schedule; the program usually takes place on the fourth Thursday of each month.

The BYOB Book Club will meet on Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. Attendees should bring a book they are currently reading.

The Red Rose Quilters Guild of Lancaster's Embroidery Mini Group will meet on Nov. 27 at 1:30 p.m. The club focuses on machine embroidery.

During the Paws to Read program, children may read stories to trained therapy dogs. The program will be offered on Saturdays, Nov. 9 and 23, at 10 a.m.

Jesse Rothacker will present Ectothermic Animal Adventures on Monday, Nov. 11, from 6 to 7 p.m. Attendees will learn about reptiles.

Cruise Into Kindergarten will meet on Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Cruise Into Kindergarten is geared to children ages 3 to 6 and is based on the national Every Child Ready to Read program. After hearing a story, children and caregivers will visit stations intended to help with skills that children need to start school.

EducArt - Intercultural Music Learning will be offered on Nov. 18. Sessions will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. for kids 10 months to 3 years old and from 4 to 4:45 p.m. for children 6 to 8 years old. Children will sing, dance, play instruments, and more. The program will have Spanish language components.

The Lititz Public Library's current StoryWalk is "You Can Do It, Sam" by Amy Hest.
