Extension sets course for pesticide applicators

People interested in obtaining a Pennsylvania private pesticide applicator license can prepare for the exam by attending a course offered by Penn State Extension. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, and from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at York County at Pleasant Valley, 2401 Pleasant Valley Road, Suite 101, York.

During the course, Extension educators will cover the content in the "Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator Certification Core Manual" and the supplement booklet, provide quizzes throughout, give test-taking tips, and explain how to earn and maintain a pesticide license. Participants will also have the chance to hear from and ask questions of a Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture inspector.

All participants are responsible for bringing their own private pesticide applicator study manual to the class. To order one, visit https://extension.psu.edu/ and search for "Pesticide Applicator Certification Study Materials - Private Applicator Packet" or call the Penn State Publications Distribution Center at 877-345-0691.
