LM offering Attollo program

Lancaster Mennonite School (LM) recently signed an agreement as a partner school with Attollo, which in Latin means "rise up." The partnership allows many benefits to Lancaster Mennonite students who are nominated and agree to participate in the rigorous college preparation program. The program is geared toward success-oriented high school students in Lancaster County from diverse backgrounds, and it is designed to prepare them for college and life in the professional world.

Beginning in their junior year, students participate in Attollo Recruit. Once they've completed the onboarding process, which is an intensive six-week course that starts at 5:30 a.m. three times a week, they are officially Attollo Scholars. Attollo helps students prove to themselves that they can achieve their goals by starting with each student solving a Rubik's Cube. The rest of their junior year, the students participate in SAT preparation courses; college visits; and other exploratory college preparation courses, with topics such as coding, medicine, pre-law, and start-up ideas. In their senior year, the students do additional college tours, essay preparation, college applications, financial aid and scholarship workshops, and college experiences with shadowing and internship opportunities.

Five LM juniors are participating in the Attollo program this year. They are Andrew Lees, Kemyah McFadden, Siddharth Muddam, Theodore Max Ross, and Yanet Wubneh.

To help students to succeed and self-reflect, Attollo focuses on six core pillars: Strong Mind, Competition, Resiliency, Accountability, Sacrifice, and Finish Strong. As a Christian school, Lancaster Mennonite also has a special session with emphasis on Christian faith, as Christian faith is an important part of the students' journey now and in the future.
