Ecological Gardener Training Program posted

The Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education, 4945 Horn Road, York will host its fourth annual Ecological Gardener Training Program. Meetings will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays, Feb. 9 to March 2, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, March 4 to May 20. No session will be held on Tuesday, April 29; this meeting will be replaced by a field trip on Sunday, April 27.

In partnership with ecological landscaper and educator Elyse Jurgen of Waxwing EcoWorks Co., the Ecological Gardener Training Program guides participants through 16 weekly sessions to explore native plants, ecology, connecting with the local landscape, and creating resilient habitat gardens that support the shared well-being of wildlife and people. No prior knowledge or experience is required to join.

Thanks to the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Sierra Club, scholarships are available to offset the program cost for participants seeking financial assistance. Anyone interested in scholarship support is encouraged to apply soon. Both financial aid and customizable payment plans are available to anyone who applies.
