Church to host local authors

Two local authors will be featured in a program on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 700 Pleasure Road, Lancaster. Pastor Tim Rogers from Grace Point Church of Paradise and his daughter Megan Shertzer will discuss their book "Beechdale Road: Where Mercy Is More Powerful Than Murder."

The authors will share the events surrounding the kidnapping and murder of 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos from Bird-in-Hand on June 21, 2020, at the hands of Justo Smoker, Rogers' brother-in-law and Shertzer's uncle. In their book, Rogers and Shertzer share their journey of grief, anger, and pain, but also tell of the grace, kindness, and mercy extended by the Amish community.

The event is free and open to the public, and copies of the book will be available for purchase. This event is part of St. Matthew's Learning and Loving Series.
