Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, will present the opera "Haensel and Gretel" on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m. The program is suitable for children of all ages.

This tale of unruly siblings overcoming deprivation and questionable parenting decisions, narrowly escaping being eaten, and defeating an evil witch through courage and wit will be brought to life by Berks Opera Company in collaboration with Albright College. The music, written by Engelbert Humperdinck, ranges from simple folk songs and hymns to pieces with rich harmonies and textures.
